Gannt Chart โ€‹

A Gantt chart represents the distribution of categories along a time series.

It's a project management tool that you can use to track activities and time. At the left of the chart, you have a list of activities. Each bar corresponds to one activity and shows the start date, finish date, and the allocated time for the activity.

Usage guidelines โ€‹

When to use โ€‹

Questions you can answer

  • How long will each activity take?
  • How long will a project take?
  • What are the dependencies for each activity?
  • When will each team be working on this project?
When not to use โ€‹
  • This chart is unique in its function, so if what you want is to track activities in a project, there is no other alternative.
Usage recommendations โ€‹
Use color to codify more information. For example, you can use the same color to group similar tasks or assign a color to a person or team.
Don't present the activities without order. If possible, group sequentially activities with a dependency, then group them by start date.
